Read Jason’s artist statement below, and check out more of his work on his website.

My Contemporary art style is rooted in many different art forms. I passionately believe that all things rest on a foundation of history. Thus, all art and the artists who perpetuated the movements surrounding that art are essential to my inspiration, development and understanding of my place among the pantheon of past artists.

In acting, if an actor keeps playing the same role in every movie it’s considered “typecasting” and it’s considered a negative thing. In the art world artist are expected to create in a similar way otherwise people assume that they have not yet found their style. A big part of my mission in art is to smash this preconceived notion, escaping the box of conformity and challenging the status quo. In this way my art is not stifled and stagnant. I can remain infinitely creative and capture the world from a multitude of perspectives. Another way of thinking about this concept is to imagine going through your whole life feeling one single emotion.

I consistently engage my patrons through spontaneity. In my work I utilize strong contrast and bold colour to achieve dramatic effects. A quest for original essence is a motif present at the core of all my work.
